Our position

Good skin is boring. It is the same few things, done properly, for a long time.

Most clinics are built for rescue — you arrive with a problem, you leave with a package. Lumen is built the other way around: a standing appointment, a plan measured in seasons rather than sessions, and a practitioner who knows your face well enough to notice what changed.

We photograph under standardised light at week zero and week twelve, and we compare those two frames honestly. Sometimes the right call is a smaller treatment than the one you came in asking for. We will say so.

Treatments

Six protocols. No packages you have to talk your way out of.

Dermaplane, enzymatic resurfacing and extraction, finished with LED. The workhorse of the menu and the one most members sit in every six weeks. It removes the dull surface layer that makes skin read tired, and it makes everything you apply at home work harder for the next fortnight.

Best for
Texture, dullness, congestion
Downtime
None — mild flush for 2–3 hours
Cadence
Every 4–6 weeks
Not for
Active cystic acne, recent isotretinoin

No acids, no extraction, no heat. A repair session for skin that has been over-treated — usually by a previous clinic, sometimes by an enthusiastic home routine. Lipid replenishment, cold ultrasound and a calming mask. Most people need two before we resume anything active.

Best for
Sensitised, stinging or flaking skin
Downtime
None
Cadence
Weekly until settled, then as needed
Safe in
Pregnancy and breastfeeding

A structured course for inflammatory and hormonal acne: salicylic resurfacing, thorough extraction, high-intensity blue LED and a home protocol you will actually follow. Booked as a series of six, reviewed at session three. We refer out to dermatology when that is the better answer.

Best for
Inflammatory & hormonal acne
Downtime
24 hours of visible purging is normal
Cadence
Every 2 weeks × 6
Series
$1,180 — reviewed at session three

Manual lymphatic drainage followed by microcurrent along the jaw, mid-face and brow. The effect is real but cumulative and temporary — it holds for roughly five days after a single session, and considerably longer once you are ten sessions in. We are straightforward about that rather than selling it as a facelift.

Best for
Puffiness, early laxity, event prep
Downtime
None
Cadence
Weekly × 10, then monthly
Not for
Pacemakers, active seizure disorders, pregnancy

Medium-depth TCA or modified Jessner's, selected at consult and stepped up across a course rather than applied at full strength on day one. This is the treatment that moves pigment and fine lines. It also peels visibly, and we will not book it in the week before a wedding.

Best for
Pigment, sun damage, fine lines
Downtime
4–7 days of visible peeling
Cadence
Every 6–8 weeks, seasonally
Required
Two weeks of prep; strict SPF after

Radiofrequency microneedling for textural scarring and laxity, performed under topical anaesthetic by a licensed practitioner. Results build over twelve weeks as new collagen forms, which is why we photograph at week zero and review at week twelve rather than asking you how you feel about it on the way out.

Best for
Acne scarring, texture, laxity
Downtime
2–3 days of redness and swelling
Cadence
Three sessions, 6 weeks apart
Course
$1,250 for three

Add-ons — LED therapy $60 · Lymphatic drainage $75 · Dermaplane $55. Free with any membership tier above Seasonal.

How it works

Four steps, in this order, every time.

01

Consult

Forty-five minutes, complimentary, no treatment on the day. Skin analysis, medical history, and photography under standardised light — the same lamp, angle and distance we will use at every review.

02

Plan

You leave with a written protocol: which treatments, at what cadence, what to use at home, what it costs across twelve weeks, and the date we will sit down and assess it.

03

Treat

Same practitioner each visit. If your skin has changed since the last session, we adjust or postpone — a treatment performed on the wrong day is worse than no treatment.

04

Review

At week twelve we re-photograph under that same light and compare the two frames side by side. We adjust the plan, or we tell you it is working and change nothing.

A treatment room with sage plaster walls, a linen-dressed bed and afternoon light crossing the wall.

The room

One room. One practitioner. Ninety minutes.

No overhead fluorescents, no ambient flute, no one knocking to ask whether you would like to hear about the membership. The only light is the window until it isn't, and the only sound is the extractor.

Two treatment rooms, single-occupancy, booked with a half-hour of air on either side so that nothing runs late and no one passes anyone in the hall.

Interval
Week 0 → week 12

Results

Photographed under the same light, or it doesn't count.

Flattering angles and warmer bulbs can manufacture a result that no treatment produced. Every comparison here is shot on the same camera, at the same distance, under the same standardised lamp, twelve weeks apart.

Placeholder — real photography required. The slider is fully built and works with real images; swap each .slot block for an <img> and it goes live. Before-and-after photography on an aesthetics site must be of real patients with written consent on file, and in most US states it is regulated advertising — so nothing has been generated or substituted here.
